Sightseeing in Beijing

After we visited the bikes, and removed one pannier form each bike to make sure they fit on the plane's skid, we visited the Tienanmen Square where general Maoe's Mausoleum is.

Then we visited the Forbidden City where the Emperor of China lived, and it was forbidden for any foreigners to enter. We walked through the place, and viewed many artifacts and structures.

We then went for a light lunch since we were invited by our tour company for dinner to have Peaking Duck in Beijing which is this area's specialty.

We then went and visited the shipping company where they were preparing to crate our bikes. We also discovered they required that our panniers be unlocked since the inspectors may require to look through our things.
