High Altitude to Punakha

We left early from Paro in the direction of Thimpu , and then took the road to Punakha, on the way we stopped on the road, where our guide showed us the marijuana growing naturally on the side of the road. He told us that once they are tall enough the department of narcotics cuts them, and destroys them by burning.

We had to go through the Dochula pass that was 3116 m in altitude, although we did feel a little heavy headed due to the low oxygen level, but not enough to affect our riding.

We then arrived at Punakha where we visited the Punakha Dzong before going to the hotel.

The hotel had a great view of the river, and to enjoy the sound of the water had no TVs. We went to a local restaurant and had a HOT meal that Ali really enjoyed.
