Enter Bhutan

One of the highlights of this journey was always Bhutan, we had read about it, and worked with the tour agent on the itinerary to experience as much as we could in the short time we had.

So we decided to leave early so that there would be time to finalize the border formalities. We managed to leave Siliguri at 7:00 am passing through tea plantations at times with different shades of green of the natural beauty of the place all along road.

The signs however were a different matter, there where almost no signs directing us to Bhutan, as a matter of fact we passed the turnoff, and when we stopped and asked we were redirected to the correct rout.

I had also forgotten to turn the tracker on and only remembered 5 Km from the boarder. Once we got close I was flagged down by a guy who said I needed to park the bike, when I asked why he explained that he was the guide from the tour company "Himalayan Adventures" to assist us in entering Bhutan. He showed us where the India boarder post is and then put out luggage in his pickup to make the bikes lighter, and easier to handle, Ali really enjoyed that.

Tomorrow we will travel to Paro which is a 6 to 7 hour ride from here.
