Early to Kathmandu

After our dawn prayers we paled our bags, and started on our way to Kathmandu. We left the hotel at 5:15 in the morning. We stopped after a few hours at a roadside coffee hut, where had some tea.

On the way I saw animals moving in the middle of the road but couldn't make out what they were, once I got closer I saw a big family of monkeys crisscrossing the road, I slowed down then continued only to notice that Ali was far behind, he had stopped to take a better look.

When we were in Bhutan we were told that there were strikes here and that when that happens all the roads close, we were happy that we managed to travel this far without stopping, but did notice at one of the towns, a tire was burning in the middle of the road as a protest to something, We didn't know what and were allowed to pass.

About 30 km from Hetauda the road condition changed from good to medium with many trucks, and after Hetauda it was narrow with some trucks and fast cars.

We were doing about 25 km/h in the mountains on the narrow roads, and had to stop and rest several times along the way.

Finally we reached Kathmandu, and found the hotel again with the aid of a fellow biker, arriving at 4:30 pm.
